Situations that affect people like this really make me angry - since the people who made the mistake were the government themselves, then it is their business to set this right !!!

good luck with that, the post put this in thier article... "He and his wife planned to spend this year exploring other countries in hopes of finding a community where they could buy a home." I know all too well how heartless the state dept is with visa's and naturalization. they can discern the intent of the applicant out of thier posterior given if they want to play merciful or vengeful god at the time, I wonder what they will consider the intent of the applicant in this case. oh or would that be unfair...lol like they have any soul left, they care not one bit.

The diplomatic list shows Colonel Mohammed Ali T. Sobhani, Assistant Military and Air Attaché from Iran, along with his wife Mrs. Sobhani, from June 1961 to August 1963. They indeed had diplomatic immunity.

If these are Dr. Siavash Sobhani's parents, he really didn't acquire US citizenship at birth. I hope that he can present a successful equity argument or obtain expedited permanent residence and then naturalization as you described.

Very interesting. I didn't dig that deeply. Of course, Sobhani is a fairly common name, so those may or may not be his parents. Thanks for posting this comment!

Dr. Siavash Sobhani obtained US citizenship by naturalization in June 2024. It seems that he did the expedited process that you described.
